The Bremen-Cog: environmental issues

The Bremen-Cog was dated by dendrochronology in the 1960s when discipline its infancy. felling date of winter 1378/79 Weser Uplands established and confirmed 2007. In 2016 a new comprehensive analysis ship made possible. All analysed samples are from trees likely felled last quarter 14th century direct hinterlands Bremen. Furthermore, an attempt at tree morphology reconstruction detailed investigation into trees’ growing features were carried out, revealing poor timber quality, which originally not necessarily intended for purpose shipbuilding.
